British Scientists Create Gasoline From Thin Air (And Water)!

By Meera Dolasia on October 22, 2012

I am sure all of you mentioned how fuel is expensive at least once in your life. Well here is the answer, fuel created with only air and water! To create the fuel the researchers first take carbon dioxide out from our atmosphere and hydrogen from our water. Then they are both put together using a “reactor”. Then using a “catalyst” the hydrocarbon is made into methanol and then changed into fuel using a method called MOBIL, (methanol-to-gasoline reaction).

Not only that it helps us save some money, it is also hazard less to our environment since it doesn’t make destructive “byproducts” which are created when fossil fuels are burnt.
This method took two years and $1.6 million pounds to create and is still developing more. In three months the researchers have made 5 liters. Even though this fuel will only be used on race cars which need special fuel, we are still excited about this remarkable discovery.

This is awesome, being able to create your own fuel. I think the best part about this is that it doesn't pollute the environment.
