PSA Presentations

From this project I learned what is inertia. What is inertia?
Inertia is a word we use when we talk about matter and movement. This refers to motorcycles because when you hit a car, you will fly over but the motorcycle will stay behind. That is inertia.
1. An object at rest tends to stay at rest.
2. An object in motion tends to stay in motion.
Inertia is the quality in matter (matter is anything you can touch) that lets it stay still if it is still, or keeps it moving if it is moving.

I also learned what is Momentum.
Momentum refers to moving things. It is a product of the mass of an object and its velocity. Momentum is why the driver of a car applies the brake to stop the car rather than just taking his foot off the accelerator. The car has gathered momentum and will continue to move forward after the driver stops accelerating it.
The greater the mass of the object, the more the momentum. It is harder to stop a large tractor trailer than it is a small compact car. Freight trains take much longer to stop than a short passenger train.

And I learned what is Friction.
Friction is a force that resists sliding motion between surfaces that are touching. This relates to motorcycles because when you put your foot on the ground to stop yourself, there is friction between you and the ground.
I learned all of the things you need to keep you safe when riding a motorcycle. I learned why boots are important to have when riding a motorcycle.

From other classmates I learned how skiing can be dangerous:

Skiing can be dangerous because:
You might bump into someone
— You might get hurt
 — A possibility to die
Also why to wear right gear for motorcycles.
žGloves: Because of the friction between you and another object.
žGlasses: So nothing goes in your eyes
žBoot: to protect your feet.
žHelmet: to save your life.
I think it is important to understand the science between car accidents because you can see what happened in the accident, and how the accident happened. Also the car wouldn't crash by it self, something needs to cause that, the science behind it is the answer.
