Scientific Summer

This summer i did a lot of things, but not all of them were scientific. Most of my summer was sitting on the couch resting, but that is not so scientific. When I went to the sea in Greece, my family and me went to a water park called water land. It is the biggest water park in Greece. There was a water slide at that park that was not completely strait but it went like staircases.
This is how it looks like:
There are many ways that science is used while going down a slide. The first one is acceleration, which means that while you are going down the slide, you will start going down the slide faster. But on the end when it gets straighter  you will start slowing down.

Also the force of gravity. When you go down a step on the slide, you will continue going forward for about 1 second because you are going very fast. But because of gravity, you will fall back on the slide in 1 second.

The word "kinetic" is derived from the Greek word meaning to move, and the word "energy" is the ability to move. Thus, "kinetic energy" is the energy of motion --it's ability to do work. The faster the body moves the more kinetic energy is produced. The greater the mass and speed of an object the more kinetic energy there will be. As the train accelerates down the hill the potential energy is converted into kinetic energy. There is very little potential energy at the bottom of the hill, but there is a great amount of kinetic energy.
