PhD Student Invents Robotic 'Slave' For Eye Surgeries

Operating on the eye is something very risky that only well trained doctors can perform. Even a little shake of the hand could impact the patients eyesight. Experienced doctors stop woking as an eye sergeant after they age.   Now a Dutch researcher Thijs Meenink, a student at Netherlands' University of Technology who invented it have a solution, it is a robot that does all the delicate work for you.
Thijs Meenink controls the device using two sticks, as if he is performing the surgery. In reality, it is the device that is doing all the work inside the eye. The only difference between the two actions is that the surgeons is hand moves the device by 1cm, the robotic arm moves only 1mm.
Each robotic arm has a diameter of 0.5 millimeter is able of skillfully using the tiny needle-like instruments. It is able to swop 1 from another in a few seconds. This saves up a lot of time since some surgeries need 40 instrument changes.
Something that is also cool is the fact that instead of the surgeon doing the surgery in an uncomfortably position, the surgeon will be able to perform the surgery while sitting, which increases the concentration and less chance of getting tired

I really think that this is amazing. Especially since a student made it. I really wish his machine works, for his good, but it also decreases the probability of people loosing their eye sight during an eye surgery. It will also make work for eye surgents much easier and less stressful.  I think that even with or with ought this machine, going inside someones eyeball is still very gross to me. Its very amazing to think what the future will be like, we are inventing theses kind of machines now, who knows what we will have in 20 years, we will be flying.

ALIENS!!!!!!!!

Since humans discovered Space, they were determined to find something living out there. An anthropologist thinks that he found remains of so called aliens. They were discovered by Renato Davila Riquelme in Peru, South America. First they have unusually large skulls - Almost as big as their 20 inch bodies. Also, their eye sockets are amazingly large. And there is the soft spot on the head. Still, something unusual is that this alien also had two large molars. After examining the remains they do not look like any human species. To confirm their suspicions they want to perform DNA tests from the remains of the eyeball inside one of the skeletons.
In the meantime, other scientists wanted an opposite explanation for these skulls. They think it could be the effect of an old ritual of re-shaping heads, practiced by ancient Mayans, North American Natives and Australian Aborigines. Whereas this certainly sounds more believable, there is the question of the combination of the soft spot and the fully grown molars. 

What caught my attention for this article was of course the title. I really never knew, or had any idea about why is there no life on the other planets.Even if I don't believe in "Aliens", I am still interested what they can find. But I really think that this is not true, no matter how much I want it to be. The second hypothesis sound more realistic and reasonable to me. But who knows, maybe it is an alien, or just an old ritual. The skull though really looks huge and unbelievable. I hope they find more and more skulls. There are still so many questions. Couldn't it be fake?Why did they jump to conclusions?

Population of Rabits




During Science class, we talk a lot about population, population growth, population density, and also endangered animals. Population means,the total number of persons/individuals inhabiting a country, city, or any district or area.We had a rabbit population growth project. In this project we had to counted a rabbit population in five years, but instead of rabbits we used beans. As you can see on the table and graphs, in year 0, there was only one male and one female rabbit, in year 1 they got again one male and one female little rabbit. In the next year, they both got a male and a female rabbit, so each year a pair reproduced and formed 2 more rabbits. We had calculated up to the tenth year first and we realized that the population changed from 2 rabbits in year zero, to 2048 rabbits in year ten, the population grows very fast. I realized that every year the number of rabbits doubles. We didn't do it our brains, we had a visualization of it but only using beans not rabbits, that made us understand better. This was very interesting for all sorts of reason. First for me i saw that even if the animal isendangered, its population can still grow back to a large number again, that is of course if they live in the right place, under good conditions and without humans hunting and killing them. Also the species needs to reproduce a lot and fast since while new rabbits are born, other ones are dyeing. This little project helped me to see, how sometimes the population of animals can can grow very fast, I hope you also got that out of my blog post.

Can Playing Video Games Make You More Creative?

At last kids will have a good excuse for playing games while they should be doing their homework.  A psychology professor, Linda Jackson, started the investigation with a survey of the  patterns in use of technology. The middle-school students took the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking, a test that involves tasks of creativity like drawing an interesting and exciting picture from a curved shape, giving it a title and then, and then creating a story on it. What they realized was that while the use of technology like phones and computers did not really do much for the kids, those that played video games were more creative. Through this research, the researchers were hoping that the results will make game developers figure out what part of the game affect creativity.

Finally, I have a good reason for playing games during my homework time. But anyway, this is very amazing. Before I thought video games were useless and a complete waist of time. But it makes you have greater creativity. What I really like is how they went out and collected data and have proof, they didn't just make up a story. Looks like from no one I will be playing games more often. But I think that even kids who don't play video games as much, can be very creative, video games are not a way to get creativity, it is used for fun. And you cant get creativity, u are ether creative or not. 

Mercury is more than a dead rock revolving around the sun

Mercury is the smallest of all planets but a bit boring. It's most exciting characteristic was “the narrow ridges that scientists believed evolved millions of years ago, when the planet was first formed” – That means that it is not that boring after all. Scientists now have photos by NASA's MESSENGER spacecraft of large holes on the surface of the planet. The holes seem as if they are new. Even if scientists don’t know the cause of the holes, they know for sure that it is not for sure the effects of wind or water erosion. Since Mercury is so close to the sun, “the hollows maybe a result of exposure to fierce heat and extreme space weather.” Another theory scientists have is that the sulfur and other explosive minerals nearby on the planet may be vaporizing because of the heat, solar. This is weakening the rock and making it all spongy.

I really think that this is really amazing. amazing. I wonder if it is going to get bigger over the years. And the funny thing is that I also thought Mercury was boring, but I guess not. This is the most interesting thing I've heard about Mercury. I hope they find more interesting things about Mercury. Before reading this article, I thought all the planets were boring except for Earth, but in fact, all of them are special and have something we haven't discovered yet. And who knows, maybe we will start finding life on all of the other planets.

The satellite ROSAT fell

Last weekend, it was expected for a German satellite ROSAT to crass on Earth. I landed with ought any damage just like the American satellite UARS . ROSAT fell to Earth sometime after 10.15pm on October 23rd. It crashed on the east of Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean, or in the Andaman Sea off the coast of Myanmar. Even if ROSAT was smaller than UARS, more pieces of Rosta hit the Earth since they had no reports of injuries, they supposed that all the pieces that weren’t broken are somewhere at the bottom of either of the two waters. NASA is not expecting any more falling satellites for at least 25 years-So relieved.

I choose to write about this article because I think that some people wanted to hear the end of this story that started in one of my previous blog posts. It is very interesting to compare the 2 satellites. For example where they fell? Or why they fell? And in how many peaces it burst before hitting Earth? These are all very good question. I hope you are as relieved as I am. But I have a feeling another one will fall again, maybe not soon, but it will.
